Let’s face it, curating a meticulously well-kept and fashionable wardrobe can be hard—but not impossible…especially with the help of local stylist and fashion maven Nancy Amoroso. Here, she dishes on the summer’s biggest trends and where to find them.
The Trend: Jeans The Brand: Khaite, khaite.com; Levi’s, levis.com
“Jeans are still obviously a staple in people's wardrobe… everybody should own a great, full-length flare jean and everybody should own a high rise straight leg. But don’t confuse the straight leg with the skinny because the skinny is passé.”
One of Chanel's ready-to-wear micro mini skirts
The Trend: Micro Mini Skirt The Brand: Chanel, chanel.com; bash paris, ba-sh.com
“Based on what everybody's comfort level is, if you can appropriately wear a Micro Mini that's fiercely the front runner in the market right now. “
The Trend: Crop Tops The Brand: Johanna Ortiz, johannaortiz.com; Rosie Assoulin, rosieassoulin.com
“Crop tops are great if you can wear them and if they are age appropriate. Let's face it—fashion is something that everybody is attracted to, but a lot of things are geared towards the youngest buyers. And that doesn't mean you can't do your own edited version of it. Instead of a crop top, you take a blouse and you tie it at the waist and that gives you the illusion.”
Zimmermann's Jude Tiered Midi Skirt
The Trend: High Waisted Skirt The Brand: Zimmermann, zimmermann.com
“The other alternative to that would be the full kind of whimsical, high waisted skirt that you can pair with either a tshirt or you can pair it with a sweater or a tank top and dress it up or down with a great pair of mules, stilettos or even a pair of flats depending on what your preference is. So it would be layers of tulle or fabric to create a full illusion-type skirt.”
What’s Out: Skinny Jeans
“I would probably say—but not to get rid of—skinny jeans. You want to wear flared, cropped, straight or bell bottom or very wide leg I would say for right now.”
