It’s 2017 and convenience is key. You can buy gourmet meals from food trucks, get holiday gifts delivered by drone and now, thanks to Franco’s Barbering, can get a classic cut and shave right outside your office. We caught up with Eric Becker and Frank Rizzieri, partners on Franco’s Barbering on location, to chat about their new mobile digs and trends for the new year.
Frank Rizzieri and Eric Becker met about ten years ago, when Eric was working at a high-end retail store in the same building as Frank. One day, Eric decided to make a change, and focus on men’s barbering. He attended Frank’s esteemed cosmetology school, and started working at Franco’s Barber Shop, inside Rizzieri’s at the Moorestown Mall, and the rest is history. Now, their newest venture, a beautiful airstream providing on-location barbering, is catching the eyes of locals.
What is your vision with this new mobile salon?
FRANK Rizzieri: “The vision is a new concept that encompasses two parts. First, delivering a unique service in a cool atmosphere and, second, offering a different model for young entrepreneurs to develop a business while being mobile.
ERIC BECKER: “I get to bring all the traditional barbering services directly to the client. Trend, time, and convenience is everything. The experience can be tailored to the guest.
Where can clients find you?
FR: Right now we are outside Echelon Fitness in Vorhees, at Stockton University, RCBC, and outside of the TD Bank headquarters location, just to name a few.
EB: We are constantly making connections and growing locations. WE would love to eventually ad more airstreams to the mix. With our concept, there is no geographic limits.
What trends in men’s cuts do you see becoming big in 2018?
EB: The trends on the rise are on opposite ends. You have the super blunt crop cut with a tight fade and crisp lines, and you have the long textured look, which still encompasses structure to achieve a loose and casual feel. Both looks are constantly requested.
What is the inspiration behind your new venture?
EB: Men’s grooming has been overlooked for a long time now. A lot of men have had to go to one place for a good fade, then go to another for a scissor cut. We combine both. The goal is to provide a service in a way the public has never seen.
FR: Franco’s is named after my grandfather, Franco Cipriotti, who started barbering back in the 1920’s in Philadelphia. I want to deliver a different barbering service to this area. Something no one has experienced before.
