A style cue is something for which Carl Alan Floral Artistry of Philadelphia has an eye. You see, a venue can drive the look of a wedding’s flowers and decor just as much as the couple.
However, the setting— with its architecture, appointments, and color palette— can serve as a foundation upon which to build, or as a challenge with which to work.
Fortunately, after more than five decades of designing weddings and celebrations of all sizes—in a variety of settings, like courtyards, ballrooms and museums— the seasoned design team at Carl Alan knows how to artfully build a look that merges the couple’s style with that of the venue.
Just consider the chic wedding of Heather and Ali Baran-Nabavi that the studio designed at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia. Carl Alan took the styling across the finish line for both the ceremony and the reception in a fashion that demonstrates the depth and breadth of their expertise and creativity.
To begin, in addition to the sleek classic cars it houses, the Simeone is appointed throughout with the quintessential black and white checkered racing pattern, which was repeated on the dance floor, and in the groomsmen’s attire!
So, the Carl Alan team worked with a warm, riche color palette of marigold, pale peach, crimson, and shades of green to balance the impression made by the iconic pattern.
To complement Heather’s intricately detailed lace gown, the studio fashioned a luxe bouquet of textured blooms, including ranunculus, roses, calla lilies and dahlias, to craspedia, which were complemented with cascading eucalyptus and ruscus to create a romantic vibe.
Meanwhile, to accent the bridesmaids’ elegant emerald green dresses, Carl Alan created floral hoops that were finished with gold leaf accents.
The bountiful ceremony arrangements, which featured pale peach garden roses, mums, roses, and assorted greens, including playful Bells of Ireland stems, doubled as sweetheart table décor during the reception.
Finally, for the reception tables, the studio designed low arrangements of richly-colored, textured blooms to make a regal statement atop white linens. The design team also adorned cocktail tables with “green-light” glass votives and playful bud vases with pale peach garden roses, yellow craspedia and wisps of greens and willow.
As you can see, marrying a couple’s individual style with their venue’s unique characteristics is what gets designing hearts racing at Carl Alan Floral Artistry. The studio masterfully incorporates character, rather than cliché touches or overused trends, to realize your big day vision in their designs, which are as classic as the cars at the Simeone Automotive Museum.
