1. What motivated you to start your business?

Growing up in the service industry and studying tourism and hospitality management, I knew whatever I chose to make a career out of would be a people-focused business. When I was younger and saw JLo’s The Wedding Planner for the first time, everything about her role as a planner spoke to me -other than her falling in love with the groom :-). My father was an entrepreneur and a huge advocate for me chasing my dreams, when he passed away in 2019 I thought it was time to take a leap of faith, and what better way to honor him then to start a business doing something I love?

2. What is your best advice for engaged couples?

Everyone will have opinions about what you should or shouldn’t do at your wedding, they’ll tell you what they loved about theirs and what they wish they could have done differently. Ultimately, it’s your wedding and if every decision you make keeping that in mind, it’s not a bad decision. Check in with each other along the way and remember why you’re planning this big day in the first place and align on you non-negotiables early.

3. What is something you constantly strive for?

I am unapologetically me. I strive for clients to feel as though they have a trusted partner first off but more importantly, for them to think that they have a temporary best friend to whom they can say all their crazy wedding ideas and woes without judgment. Then I either validate them or bring them back down to earth with the feasibility of their idea. So, I guess I strive to stay true to myself and share a little bit of myself with them along the way to build their trust in me.

4. What is the most gratifying part of your business?

This is hard for me to answer because I practice gratitude every day, so there are many things I could list. I could say the validation we receive through reviews from our past couples or the look on their faces during the Room Reveal (I secretly hope for a few tears of joy so I know I nailed it!). But, if I had to choose one thing, I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow as we all know there is always something new in this space whether it’s tech, a trend, a venue to tour, etc. It keeps me excited about going to work every day.

5. How far in advance should couples book your business?

We’re seeing a lot of clients booking last minute since the world reopened and that’s for all levels of service. As a result, we’re seeing a lot more unnecessary stress and overwhelm in couples because they’ve bitten off more than they can chew. The ideal planning timeline we recommend for starting to work with us is 12-18 months out from the ideal wedding date.
