In the last year, Reed’s has reinvested proceeds from their market, kitchen space and more back into providing healthy food options for the local community.
Picture this: A night under the stars at Reed’s Farm (reedsorganicfarm.org), where local farm-to-table ingredients take center stage in a carefully curated menu by Vernick Fish’s Greg Vernick and Dave Paterniti. As guests dine on family-style dishes with hyperseasonal lettuces, herbs and produce, they are also raising money for food insecurity through Cookie Till’s nonprofit, A Meaningful Purpose. The August 12 event, in collaboration with Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, welcomes 60 guests to join in Till’s goal to promote sustainable farming, provide healthy food options for neighboring residents and educate attendees on where their food comes from—all goals that deeply resonate with Vernick. “Growing up in southern New Jersey, I have a deep appreciation for the local foodways, farms and ingredients,” he shares. “Cookie’s mission and vision are something I’ve always admired, both as a restaurant owner and pillar of the community.” Along with unforgettable bites, the farm will come to life with live music and creative cocktails. —Madison Duddy
