Providing builders and building owners with integrated technology solutions, Rittenhouse Communications Group (RCG) is a one-stop shop for clients’ connected-building needs. Led by Sean Edwards, RCG offers a unified platform for clients, including low-voltage cabling and infrastructure, network build-out, managed access control, IP cameras, Wi-Fi and A/V.
“Our vision is to make buildings safer, smarter and connected,” Edwards says. “We provide the proper camera and access-control infrastructure to keep tenants safe. We also provide technology for controlling things like your blinds and your thermostat, controlling the resident experience via our own app and installing internet for residents throughout the building.”
RCG sets itself apart in the industry by being on the forefront of technology. After a decade in business, Edwards and his team launched an in-house app to support the hardware systems they install in their clients’ buildings.
“As the actual company that installs and supports the hardware, we now layer a software piece on top of that, which no other company in my industry has done,” Edwards says. “Launching the app has been our biggest accomplishment to date.”
Edwards refuses to follow the normal confines of what’s been done in the past when it comes to building technology. Instead, he focuses on looking ahead to the future and creating new solutions that are custom built for clients.
“Our next big goal is to expand our reach to a more national level,” he says. “We are really hyper focused on the Mid-Atlantic right now, but are starting to make an impact all the way down to Washington, DC and Baltimore, and up to Boston. We will have a much bigger presence on the East Coast in the years to come.”
When not hard at work, Edwards enjoys boating, traveling and collecting wine. He also spends his free time giving back to the community by supporting law enforcement, the Coast Guard Foundation and East Coast Bulldog Rescue. He also sits on the advisory council for the SS United States Conservancy.
“I will do anything I can do, from a business standpoint and a personal standpoint, to make Philadelphia better, safer and more prosperous,” Edwards says.
