What's Happening In Philly's Food Scene - Six Feet Under, with CravePhilly

Six Feet Under, Washington Square’s newest gastro pub, has arrived. Expect a diverse mix of Penn Medicine employees, local nine-to-fivers, and Society Hill residents at this self-described "evil sister" of the nearby M Hotel.
At a literal six feet below Walnut Street, this subterranean space features two well stocked bars; one front and center, the other tucked into a dark, anonymous corner. With its several dining alcoves, spacious private dining room, and full craft cocktail and beer menu, Six Feet Under seems like a perfect choice for date night.
The pub's space is moodily lit, scattered with candles that complement the main bar's faux-candlelight fireplace. Additional decor includes a collection of actual iron shovels, cleverly back-lit, and seven large flat screen TVs tuned to all the sports you could wish for. They host live jazz on Thursday evenings, and dance-music spinning DJs on Fridays and Saturdays.
If you're hungry at Six Feet Under, you'll find a full menu of bar food to fill you up, including wings, pulled pork, specialty burgers, and sandwiches. A few surprise snacks also include fried spinach and artichoke rice balls and a stellar version of buffalo-style cauliflower that's crispy, savory, spicy, sweet, and addictive–you've been warned! There's also an all-day breakfast menu featuring cinnamon waffles, bacon pancakes, and a trendy egg and avocado sandwich.
I'm digging Six Feet Under's 70s rock-and-roll vibe, which, with an expertly mixed Woodford Old Fashioned in hand, provides the cool, local bar scene I've been looking for in Washington Square.
