The 76ers have been playing in Orlando, Florida for the past week for the official restart of their 2019-2020 NBA season, but there’s another event on their radar. On August 1, fans can look forward to the official launch of a new collaboration with workwear brand Dickies (dickies.com) and streetwear brand New York Sunshine (newyorksunshine.com). The limited-edition capsule includes pieces like button-down short-sleeve shirts, crew neck sweatshirts, jumpsuits and pants—all designed by John Margaritis, Creative Director of New York Sunshine. “I viewed the collaboration as if I were part of the maintenance team and was a die-hard fan of the 76ers,” Margaritis says. “I wanted to create something that would represent and shine a spotlight on everyone working on the ground level—custodians, ushers, food vendors, equipment managers, etc. Dickies and I started a conversation a while back, and when I began working on the designs, I knew they could offer the perfect canvas for the vision I was trying to create.” The collaboration, which will be available exclusively via Lapstone & Hammer and New York Sunshine, is a part of the 76ers Crossover program, which donates proceeds to the Urban Affairs Coalition.
