Philly’s latest French-inspired lounge serves up a splash of local joie de vivre. Each dish serves up a unique take on traditional French fare, such as this North Atlantic salmon with Beluga lentils
From Parisian indulgence to elevated grandeur, Sofitel Philadelphia is ushering in a new era of luxury with sweeping renovations across the property. But the long-awaited reveal begins on the hotel’s ground floor with the debut of the all-new Liberté Lounge, Philadelphia’s newest spot for foodies who are seeking cocktails, cuisine and elevated, relaxed luxury—French style.
Cocktails meld traditional French spirits with a modern flair
The injection of Parisian inspiration paired with Philadelphia history makes for a transportive dining environment, with the use of wood, leather, metals and warm neutrals enhancing the contemporary feel of the space. And at over 9,000 square feet, Liberté promises immense possibility. The complete redesign has essentially flipped the space inside out, opening sightlines and bringing in bountiful natural light—and moving the bar along Sansom Street imbues fresh energy to the space.
A variety of texture, lighting and architectural elements mark the updated Parisian vibe.
But it’s the elevated culinary experience that has Francophiles saying bon appétit. The innovative new menu is an ode to both cities, celebrating a harmonious fusion of French and American flavors, with handcrafted bites ranging from Salade Niçoise and Pâté de Campagne to Philly cheesesteaks and the Philadelphia Croque Madame. Executive chef Seth Fannin has taken his passion for creating decadent dishes and curated a menu that celebrates the best of both worlds, infusing each dish with a touch of French zest and local flair. It’s French refinement meets local charm—and an utterly unique culinary experience.
Of course, no true luxe French lounge experience would be complete without a cocktail list that imbues the mood of a sultry Parisian night. Serving up classic French spirits such as Rinquinquin, Chartreuse, Suze, Calvados, Absinthe and Domaine de Canton, Liberté is the first boîte in Philadelphia to offer tableside cocktails showcasing a nitro cocktails draft system, infusing microbubbles into certain drinks. And for wine lovers, wines by the glass are served that embody the essence of France’s heritage, including reds that showcase traditional French varietals, whites that feature a harmonious blend of old and new world flavors and a series of bubblies that pay homage to the country’s illustrious history of sparkling winemaking.
