Sofitel Philadelphia hosts a month-long celebration in June for Philadelphia Gay Pride Month.
Located in the heart of Rittenhouse Square, Sofitel Philadelphia’s (sofitel-philadelphia.com) blend of French elegance with American style makes it a refined environment for upscale business and leisure meetings, events and celebrations. Not to mention, this sophisticated downtown hotel will host a month-long celebration in June for Philadelphia Gay Pride Month. “Sofitel Philadelphia is passionate about supporting our local community,” said Angela Bauer, Sofitel Philadelphia General Manager. “We are thrilled to bring back our pride line-up better and bigger than ever, with our Pride Drag Teas, an art reception, the return of Fête de La Musique and a month-long benefit for the William Way LGBT Community Center."
The Sofitel will kick off the city’s Pride Month with an entertaining twist on their classic afternoon tea service. Debuting on June 5, and again on June 12, The Sofitel will host a new Drag Tea, featuring Brittany Lynn’s Drag Mafia, inside the hotel’s Chez Colette Brasserie. From 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., guests are invited to sip tea —or spill it— in the presence of fabulous Drag Queens while enjoying delicious offerings from Sofitel’s award-winning culinary team.
In addition to this chic twist on afternoon tea, attendants will find Philadelphia’s locally designed and newsmaking rainbow flag in the center of the hotel’s aesthetic lobby, appropriately renamed “Philadelphia’s LQBTQ Hall of Flags.” This new oversized flag incorporates the original rainbow flag, along with the city’s addition of the brown and black stripes to honor diversity in the local community. For the entire month of June, this colorful exhibit will showcase a host of LGBTQ flags, from the Lesbian and Bisexual to Gender Fluid and Transgender Pride Flags, flying high to celebrate the different facets of the local gay community. Just as importantly, Sofitel Philadelphia will donate $1 to the William Way LGBT Community Center for purchases of select banquet menu items. Designated items range from the hotel’s lavish breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets to a fine selection of their delicious beverages, including the Liberté Cocktail. Available in the hotel’s Liberté Lounge, this exquisite drink features pear infused Vodka, lemon, St. Germain and Sparkling Wine.
