The Perfect Itinerary for Your Next Weekend at the Shore

Looking to spice up your usual agenda? Or heading down for the first time this season? We created a three-day itinerary so you can make the most of your quick shore weekend.
Hightail it out of work and head straight to the Borgata Casino Resort (1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City, 609-317-1000), where you can unwind in one of the cozy luxury suites and book your Saturday morning spa appointment.
Enjoy a delectable meal at Girasole (3108 Pacific Ave., Atlantic City, 609-345-5554), where we suggest pairing your entrée with a bellini to take advantage of the seasonal flavors. Afterwards, tuck into the bruschetta di mare, which features calamari, shrimp, octopus, clams, garlic, and sundried tomatoes.
Get dolled up and head to the Borgata’s own Mur.Mur (609-317-1000), an all-in-one nightclub with top-shelf drinks and artists like Johnny Drama and DJ Irie headlining on weekends.
Venture out to Cape May and have breakfast at George’s Place (301 Beach Ave., Cape May, 609-884-6088), a family-owned restaurant offering Greek-infused food and a menu fit for anyone. (This staple spot was even featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives.)
Check into the historic and iconic Congress Hall (200 Congress Pl., Cape May, 609-884-8421) and partake in the complimentary loungers, umbrellas, and towels for a seaside afternoon or drinks by the pool.
If you’re feeling adventurous, spend the rest of the afternoon on the beach, taking advantage of parasailing, jet-skiing, or surf- and paddleboarding lessons.
An evening in Cape May wouldn’t be complete without dinner in the heart of the historic district. Enjoy a feast at The Washington Inn (801 Washington St., Cape May, 609-884-5697), where the chipotle-grilled shrimp, a tangy summer dish that comes with guacamole and crispy tortillas, is not to be missed.
Head north to Avalon, stopping first at the oceanfront Fishin’ Pier Grille (32nd St. & Boardwalk, Avalon, 609-967-8114) for a light and quick lunch bite.
Sunday was made for shopping, especially in this ocenside destination. Swing by ellelauri (264 W. 21st St., Avalon, 609-961-3658) for summer dresses, bold jewelry, and trendy beach essentials. Then, work your way down Dune Drive’s array of boutiques, starting at The Preppy Palm (2533 Dune Dr., Avalon, 609-368-7300) to peruse wares from high-end brands like Lilly Pulitzer. Walk down the block to Per Lei (2521 Dune Dr., Avalon, 609-368-2929) to get your fix of Trina Turk, Diane von Furstenberg, Alice + Olivia, and more. Finish off at Lululemon's pop-up shop (2005 Dune Dr., Avalon, 678-710-1688).
Before heading back home and inevitability to reality, make a stop at The Reeds in Stone Harbor (9601 Third Ave., Stone Harbor, 609-368-0100) to watch the sunset over the back bay while enjoying dinner with a view at Water Star Grille. Cap off your sweet weekend with an equally sweet ice cream treat from the iconic Springer’s (9420 3rd Ave., Stone Harbor, 609-368-4631); with over 50 flavors to choose from, we recommend getting a scoop (or two, or three) of the vanilla peanut butter brownie in a chocolate chip cookie cone.
