Kaffe Fassett has textile fans in stitches at a new exhibit.
The Michener Art Museum turns to textiles for its new exhibit “Blanket Statements.” The display of 35 quilts includes vibrant works from artist Kaffe Fassett, a London-based American artist who counts Barbra Streisand and Shirley MacLaine as collectors. There are local works, too, including “a number of quilts that were pieced together in Bucks County and add an exciting dimension to the exhibition,” says curator Kirsten Jensen. The Michener will also be displaying mixed-media pieces by contemporary Philadelphia artist Virgil Marti, who is known for his popculture references and flair for fabrics. November 14–February 21, 138 S. Pine St., Doylestown, 215-340-9800
