Lockton, the world’s largest privately held insurance broker, offers clients the best in technology, predictive modeling, financial analytics and myriad other tools. With Timothy Folk as a partner in Lockton’s Philadelphia operation, the business is set to become the biggest brand in the region’s commercial insurance industry.
“It isn’t me who’s the Power Player; it’s our team,” Folk says. “I’m just fortunate enough to be the face of the team in many ways.”
Folk and his colleagues have taken the guesswork out of insurance and replaced it with data, analytics and facts, resulting in better outcomes for their clients, every time.
“At Lockton, we hire the very best and brightest in the industry and give them the room to flourish and solve problems,” Folk says. “Being a Power Player is knowing how to access resources and always being able to bring them to bear for your clients. It means solving problems quickly, efficiently and with a strategic mindset.”
Folk defines success as being fulfilled and happy, always being prepared and doing the right thing, even when it’s the hard thing.
“I put my maximum effort into everything I do every day,” he says. “I believe in helping as many people as I can, always looking to create solutions. When you do that, success feels like it just happens. When you operate without regard for yourself, but instead to the broader good, you will be surprised at how much good comes back to you.”
In addition to his work at Lockton, Folk is a part of an outdoor adventure sport startup, which has become a huge passion for him. Folk is also invested in some real estate opportunities and is evaluating a cannabis operation. He also lends his time and talent to WeThrivv, an aesthetics and hair growth company.
“As an investor and board member, I can tell you I absolutely believe in our product line,” he says of WeThrivv. “More importantly, it's our CEO and my dear friend, Sanjay Batra, who made the investment attractive. Sanjay has the ideas, capacity and leadership skills to take this company to incredible heights. I’m just excited to be a part of it.”
