Kaylie Barnes-Kelly and Kevin Rafferty Jr. had their first dance in 2015—as students at Villanova University “I was a member of the Villanova University Dance Team, and Kevin was on the basketball team,” says Kaylie. To kick off the basketball season, the school hosts ‘Hoops Mania,’ a celebration that includes a joint dance between the basketball and dance teams. Kevin and I were paired up as dance partners, and our love story officially began.”

Eight years later, the couple was still dancing—this time with 302 guests—as they celebrated their marriage with a Union League reception. “My father (James J. Kelly III) has been a Union League member for many years, and the club has been the center of many family events and traditions,” says the bride.

To honor the bride and groom’s Irish heritage, bagpipers played at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul (at the ceremony) and at the start of the reception. Jennifer Supper of Kaleidoscope Weddings worked with SAC Designs to execute a flawless light blue and white ambiance to reflect the couple’s favorite color and evoke a summery feel for the July affair.
