Best known for his vegan dishes at Royal Tavern, chef Mark McKinney is bringing more tasty eats to the city with the new pop-up Primary Plant Based (primaryplantbased.com). Located at Khyber Pass Pub in Old City, the concept launched to the public in November with dishes like sweet potato toast made with fresh water chestnuts, ginger, scallion, sesame and flax drizzled in a sweet and sour sumac chile sauce. Other popular eats include the mushroom and grits, spicy peanut mole noodles and baked churro doughnuts.
