Trina Turk's swim line, which includes bathing suits, cover-ups, totes and towels, has been in stores—and our closets—since 2007. A California girl through and through, Turk is inspired by the “cocktail party and poolside lifestyle of the desert.” Can’t argue with that.
PHILADELPHIA STYLE:What’s your favorite suit for the season? TRINA TURK: Our botanical print bikini. Accessorize it with a big hat, vintage sunglasses, a lace tunic, short shorts and a great book to read on the beach. PS:Where are your favorite beaches? TT: Greece, Hawaii and Costa Rica. PHILADELPHIA STYLE: Describe your summer style. ERIN HEATHERTON: I like to be relaxed and a bit bohemian. I add jewelry, hats and bags collected from my travels and mix everything up. I don’t put in too much thought—I’m on vacation! PS: What’s your favorite beach destination? EH: St. Barts, for the beautiful beaches and amazing food. Bright prints and fun colors define Shoshanna Swimwear, a line by fashion maven Shoshanna Gruss. The label’s genius concept of sizing and selling bikini tops and bottoms separately makes quick work of finding the perfect fit.
PHILADELPHIA STYLE: What are your tips for finding a perfectly fitting swimsuit? SHOSHANNA GRUSS: Test out different styles and shapes. To enhance your chest or butt, look for embellishments like ruffl es or ruching. Make sure bottoms aren’t saggy in the back but also not too tight around the butt and hips. When in doubt stick with easily adjustable string bottoms. PS: What inspired your latest collection? SG: I was inspired by gardens in the city—pretty florals on black backgrounds to give them a more urban, edgy feel. Also, the 1969 Summer of Love era—psychedelic prints with peace sign charms and bohemian tie-dye patterns. Saks Fifth Avenue, 2 Bala Plaza, Bala Cynwyd, 610-667-1550
