Emily Bajalia, senior marketing manager at Jane Win Jewelry in Wayne, PA, and Kush Panara, a resident physician at the University of Pennsylvania’s Otolaryngology department, met while attending the University of Miami in 2014.
The gold and white cake was chocolate and dulce de leche flavored
About eight years later, Kush proposed, and the pair started planning their dream Hindu- Christian fusion wedding. “We knew from the start we wanted to get married in Miami, where we met and spent so many formative years together,” says Emily.
With Indian and Arabic favorites on the menu, an orange muddled mojito as their signature drink, and the newlywed’s first dance as a choreographed number to a remix made by the groom, the celebration was a hit for the 355 guests.
“We honored traditions that mean so much to us and make us who we are, but we put our twist on everything and threw a great party,” says the bride.
