Atlantic City will be hotter than ever this summer—and we’re not talking about the weather. The entertainment capital of the Jersey Shore offers so many reasons to pay a visit this summer: From celebrity-headlined shows to fireworks spectaculars, here are six reasons why you need to plan a visit now, thanks to the help of DO AC.
Atlantic City has a slew of events and festivals lined up for the summer season, including Chefs at the Shore, Thunder Over the Boardwalk, and Taste of the Quarter, but none will compare to the dazzling Fourth of July fireworks display. Find a viewing spot along the Boardwalk or at the Marina, and watch as the night sky lights up at 9:30 p.m.
Memorial Day weekend in AC will be incredibly special for many reasons with one of them being the third annual Beach Ball Drop at Resorts Casino Hotel that officially kicks off the summer season with music, contests, and games on the Boardwalk. Memorial Day weekend will also debut five new fantasy-themed multimedia sound and light shows brought to you by Tropicana Casino & Resort and Moment Factory. The fun doesn't stop there: They'll also be showcasing free fireworks shows every Saturday night all summer long.
Even if you’ve already experienced the beauty of Absecon Lighthouse (the tallest lighthouse in New Jersey!), this must-see attraction gives visitors another reason to do it all over again, thanks to the addition of live camera views and a selfie cam, which make the climb up the 228 steps so worth it. 31 S. Rhode Island Ave., Atlantic City, NJ, 609-449-1360
Thanks to Boardwalk Hall’s recent $750,000 renovation, Atlantic City now has a brand new concert venue named the Adrian Phillips Theater, which is complete with an open-air balcony boasting Instagram-worthy views of the beach and boardwalk—many good times will be had here during the summertime and beyond.
In addition to having the best nightlife attractions around, Atlantic City also has a very unique and exciting line-up of headlining acts. Look forward to Luke Bryan, Cyndi Lauper, Justin Bieber, Lady Antebellum, Boyz II Men, Jimmy Buffet, The Zac Brown Band, Florida Georgia Line, and many more. Trump Taj Mahal also has countless events planned for the summer, including famed wire walker Nik Wallenda’s riveting Zirkus variety show, as well as Rod Stewart’s The Hits 2016 tour, which are sure to be epic.
While exploring Atlantic City is a ton of fun, you’ll definitely crave some downtime to relax in between activities. There’s no better place to do so in AC than at Borgata, where the hotel has plans to debut a new outdoor pool: The new space will feature a bar, plush cabanas, lawn games, and a stage for live performances. 1 Borgata Way, Atlantic City, 609-317-1000
