There’s never a dull moment on the Main Line.
Find pieces from Alison Lou’s spring collection during the Dec. 3 trunk show
Main Liners may remember Beth Silverberg back from when she was Beth Shak, the illustrious world poker champ who was as known around these parts for her 1,200-pair shoe collection (including 700 pairs of Christian Louboutins) as she was for her Texas Hold ‘Em prowess. But those days are long gone, and now Silverberg has turned her laser-focused sights on Exceptional Finds (exceptionalfinds.com), her beautiful little gem box of a shop that features a well-curated selection of unexpected designer jewelry, collectible designer handbags and unique gifts at all price points. “I bring my own design perspective that I’ve honed over years in jewelry and fashion. From a very early age, women have always looked to me for fashion advice, and I hope everyone can share my passion,” she says about her boutique that opened this fall. Stop by to check out one-of-a-kind Birkins, as well as a bevy of bags and vintage pieces from designers ranging from Gucci to Chanel. Plus, she also carries exclusive jewelry brands like Adina Reytor, Spinelli Kilcollin, CADAR and Sydney Evan. Pop by the boutique on Dec. 3 for another special surprise: a trunk show featuring Alison Lou, a playful fine jewelry brand worn by the likes of Blake Lively, Beyoncé and Rihanna.

There’s nothing better than stopping by Suburban Square’s Kendra Scott (kendrascott.com) to pick up some baubles for all the ladies on your list—except for when your score also goes to help those in need. On Saturday, Dec. 10, from 6 to 8PM, local celebrity fashion stylist Brooke Rounick, celebrity makeup artist Marcia Williams of Embellish Beauty, philanthropist Honey Tishgart, TV host and style reporter Jen Su and Click Philly model and philanthropist Allison Weiss Brady are all coming together to host a shopping event that benefits the local chapter of Gene Spotlight, Inc. (genespotlight.org), a nonprofit that sponsors vital medical research to find better treatments for rare diseases, including research at the Orphan Disease Center at Penn Medicine. “It’s such a wonderful opportunity that the Ardmore store is partnering with Gene Spotlight, Inc. to help patients suffering from rare diseases,” says Rounick. The event will include new pieces from the winter 2022 collection, a gorgeous mix of holiday-inspired jewel tones with classic Kendra Scott shapes that shoppers know and love. And since 20% of all proceeds from the event will benefit Gene Spotlight, Inc. you can shop feeling good.
Enter the new year with your best hair yet.
For those of us who’ve battled the frizzies, we’ve all tried various remedies but know that the end results are never quite what we’ve hoped for. Japanese straightening leaves our hair damaged; Keratin looks great at first but quickly washes out, as does the Brazilian. But INVU Salon’s (invusalon.com) latest treatment, the Salon Pro Addiction Protein Rebuilding Smoothing Treatment, is the solution. Not only does it work to tame frizz, but it leaves life and body in your locks. As stylist Paola Rivera’s expert hands whisk you through the $450, three-to-four-hour process (depending on the thickness and length of your hair), you’re left with bouncy tresses that are straight and smooth, and anything but lifeless. Bonus: There’s no downtime. You can throw your hair back in a pony right after the treatment is done—although why would you, with hair this silky smooth?
