In typical birthplace-of-America fashion, the City of Brotherly Love is taking light shows to an entirely new level this Fourth of July. We found five of the best locations to witness firework displays that have proven themselves to be the best in town.
Independence day celebrations have a head start in Philadelphia. On July 1 at 8 p.m., the acclaimed Philadelphia Orchestra will perform on the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing, free of charge. While you can catch some impressive fireworks in the days leading up to Fourth of July, the big guns come out on the day the declaration was signed. Following Wawa Welcome America's Fourth of July concert is a fireworks show at Philadelphia Museum of Art in a patriotic display that will take viewers through our country's history. If you can’t make it to the Philadelphia Orchestra show, fear not; there will be another fireworks display the following evening. This time, the United States Army Band "Pershing’s Own" will perform on the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing at 8 p.m. with fireworks following the show at 9:30 p.m. The light display will go off on the landing’s riverside location, which can be seen from various points along the water. 101 S. Along with a fireworks display, Camden Waterfront will host the Freedom Festival featuring food, attractions, and all kinds of activities for the family.
